Introduction
The idol of goddess of Kalika Ma is being worshipped since 1950s at the place popularly known as Gouripur Kalimandir beside Jessor Road Birati under North Dum Dum Municipality Kolkata -700051 PS Air port North 24 parganas.It is a Dakshina Kalimandir known as Gouripur Kalima. The mandir is crowded specially on Tuesday and Saturday .A large gathering is found on special festival days like on Ist Bengali year day, ist January, Biswakarma puja and all Amabasya pujas. All type Vehicles & Car puja is done regularly in the morning and evening by the priest of this mandir.
History
There are many legendary occurrences and miracles that established true in faith regarding the mandir.A Brahmin Late Grishpati Chattopadhyay , a pious man on his wish with the persistent efforts of some well wishers founded a mandir at the shed of bamboo made chala ghar by the side of a big pond and started daily puja . Another priest Sri Late Kalidas Molki(popularly known as Lal Baba also got a spelendid divine power as believed as by many Baktos who worshipped Kalimata regularly for longest period with his sweet chanting and Kalimantra. Subsequently , transforming the earthen idol into a Kosti Pathorer Murti(black stone idol)in the gorbho griha abiding by traditional hindu rigorous rites at the time of Pran-Prtistha .Presently there are two shrines ,one is above Garbha Griha and next one is above newly built Natmandir. A big well decorated pure Silver Singhason wherein Idol Kalimata is standing therein at the Garbha Griha.
Devotees and bhaktos
Devotees and bhaktos of this mandir always have their holy faiths regarding the existence of divine power of phenomena of our Ma. A good number of devotees and bhaktos in respect of caste and creed , rich or poor , renowned persons in all fields offer prayer at this mandir regularly.Even pilgrims from neighbouring districts and states come at this mandir to offer puja. Goat sacrifice was prevalent at this mandir in previous days however it was stopped after few years.From then Maa is being offered pure vegetarians Vogs daily.
Annual Kalipuja
Annual Kalipuja is performed at midnight and traditionally on that day Kalimata wears unlike other days full Gold Ornaments . It is a marvellous attraction of our Ma at this time. Devotees from far away wait to visit at the mandir to get blessing of this holy midnight and offer Anjali & observe midnight puja on that day. Periodical Amabasya puja is observed after evening Arati on the Nishi Udjapon day.
Regular Puja & Annya Vog
Regularly our mandir is opened at dawn with Mongal Arati and Idol kalimata wears of a new Saree. .Puja & Anjali is offered by the devotees from morning to noon daily. Ma Kali is offered special Annya vog everyday at noon .Vogs are distributed among the devotees and public.
Apart from regular puja and anjali , devotees can offer special puja, offering new saree , gold & silver ornamaents and vog materials according to their wishes & feasibility. Devotees on their personal occasion can offer special puja like Annyaprason , Birthday etc prior to advance booking. Devotees are supplied special Malsa Annya vogs after the special puja occasion. A massive quantity of Khichuri Vog is arranged for all on Every Amabasya Puja. Full Plate vegetarian Annyavog is arranged at noon in the mandir premise at a minimum price.
Shib Mandir is attached to this mandir , devotees can offer puja and pouring water to Shib Linga.Special puja is arranged on Shibratri at night known as Char Praharer Puja.

Garbha Griha
Door of the Garbha Griha is once again opened at afternoon after arrangement of wearing new Saree. Evening Arati is another attraction of our mandir.Traditional drum(Dhak) ,kashar, Ganta , pancho pradip, dhup , shankho etc. presentation by the priest to our Kalimata create a paradise feelings at the mandir. After evening Arati, Prasad is distributed regularly. Regularly except Amabasyapuja Garbha griha is closed after 9 pm .
Kalimandir Trust
Gouripur Kalimandir is being conducted by the name of Gouripur Sarbajanin Kalimandir Trust from the year 1990.
Our trust plays an important role for the welfare of the people , specially for the weaker sections of our society.Distribution of sarees to the poor women, Benarasi saree to girls on their marriage,Medical treatment & Medicines for the needy people,Educational assistance to the needy students, Books distribution, Relief at the time of natural calamities etc.
Our Trust conducts Ambulance service for 24 hours. Matriasish Bhawan Seva Kendra is another sister concern of our Trust.Medical Unit of Doctors ,Computer Teaching Centre for students, Library, Ayurveda Treatment, Mental health assistance etc. are available there
